ABOUT 18 years ago when Gardenia began engaging its consumers with the value of quality, freshness, taste, oven-baked aroma, and high nutrition. More than its wide array of healthy and delectable baked products, Gardenia amazes people that a bread-making giant produces hundreds of thousands of loaves and buns every day using a world-class plant facility that is ISO and HACCP-certified. With its modern baking process and fully automated plant, consumers can rest assured that breads are untouched by human hands.
Besides the state-of-the-art plant, proprietary manufacturing facility, high quality products and excellent people, the reason that made Gardenia the loaf brand of every Filipino is its unrelenting social commitment to be of service to its valued consumers as a community.
Gardenia strives to be a caring corporate citizen by giving back to society through support of various philanthropic community and charitable causes.
Quick respond to calamities and disaster relief efforts
Gardenia has been proactively involved in responding to calamities. The company developed its Quick Response program to immediately provide assistance to communities affected by natural calamities like typhoons, earthquakes, fires and such disaster.
Gardenia sends bread loaves and snack items to calamity victims in partnership with relief organizations, local government units, media foundations and socio civic groups such as the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), ABS-CBN Sagip-Kapamilya Foundation, GMA Kapuso Foundation, and various other charitable groups and individuals.
The company also initiated a special project during the summer season, when fire incidents are rife, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Alabang. It is called Response Agad. Volunteers in the project provide bread assistance to fire victims in relocation centers, giving them ready-to-eat goods like bread, which do not require cooking, within 24 hours after the occurrence.
Advocate of charitable causes and sponsorship of community programs
Gardenia contributes resources toward the welfare of the less fortunate through support of social initiatives and community programs.
Since 2002, under the “The Daily Bread” program, Gardenia has been consistently donating thousands of loaves every week to some 50 regular beneficiaries, inclusive of foundations and community groups that house street children, out of school youth, victims of abuse, and needy senior citizens.
Gardenia supports government initiative
Apart from relief efforts and providing donations to calamity-affected communities, Gardenia takes an active part in providing discounted goods to communities affected by calamity.
Gardenia actively participates in the Department of Trade and Industry’s “Diskwento Caravan” project. This government-initiated project enables people who have no access to shops, to purchase goods and basic commodities at a discount.
Passion that works
Gardenia’s genuine passion lies in enriching lives. The desire to do this fuels the company’s commitment not only to deliver world-class and safe products, but to give back for the greater good of the Filipinos.
