President Benigno Aquino 3rd on Tuesday said that he is appointing former Iloilo representative Janette Garin as undersecretary of the Department of Health (DOH).
“She will bring a lot of political savvy to DOH, enhance the cooperation between DOH, and especially the local government units, and as well as the national offices,” he told reporters.
Garin, a member of the ruling Liberal Party, is a doctor. She was one of the sponsors of the Reproductive Health Care and Cheaper Medicines laws.
“Napaka-extensive ng kanyang practice and her knowledge on both as a medical professional and as a legislator that will greatly enhance the effectivity of the DOH’s programs,” the President said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Aquino said that he has yet to finalize the details of the positions that he will offer to former senators Panfilo Lacson and Francis Pangilinan.
”The devil is in the details . . . [but]we are in touch with both of them,” the President said.
