Gerald Anderson may have been on a hiatus in his showbiz career, but he is definitely back beginning this month.
First on Gerald’s list of projects will see him returning to TV and silver screen. Back to impress once again with his acting abilities, Gerald stars in the critically-acclaimed movie of Erik Matti, On The Job, opening in cinemas on August 28.
Included in the Director’s Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival, Gerald plays the role of Daniel, an ex-convict and trained assassin. It was a very challenging role for Gerald as it combined his skills in drama and stamina in action.
Quickly on the heels of OTJ, Gerald’s much-awaited primetime drama Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin will be seen on ABS-CBN come September. After his lauded Primetime Bida teleserye Budoy last year, Gerald goes back to his action-drama roots, playing the role of Miguel Dizon, a man wrongfully accused of a crime.
Besides his showbiz commitments, Gerald is also busy with his advocacies.
On August 16, he went to visit Binondo Elementary School in Bagangga, Davao Oriental, which he helped rebuild after it was ravaged by Typhoon Pablo. Visiting for the second time, the actor graced the ribbon cutting of the newly built public school, as well as the ground breaking of the school canteen and play- ground. Students and school faculties were very thankful for Gerald’s good gesture.
The actor also continues supporting the Cancer Warriors Foundation and Cottolengo Filipino.
Finally, Gerald will be involved in Hero Ball, a benefit basketball game on September 1, 5 p.m. at the Makati Coliseum. He has been doing charity basketball projects for three years already and this is the first time with Heroes Foundation.
