Gilas Pilipinas displayed a strong start but eventually lost to Lithuania 80-91 on Friday in the 39th William Jones Cup men’s basketball tournament at the Taipei Heping Gymnasium in Taiwan.
Coming off an 84-75 win over Iraq last Thursday, the Filipinos struggled against the taller and quicker Lithuanian en route to their third defeat in seven games for a 4-3 win-loss record. Lithuania’s improved to 6-1 after the victory.
