RANIDEL De Ocampo sank a three-pointer in the dying seconds to save Gilas Pilipinas from losing to the Jordanians on Tuesday in the 2014 FIBA Asia Cup.
De Ocampo, a 6’5 forward from Talk N’ Text who finished with 14 points, notched a three-pointer that allowed Gilas Pilipinas to win over Jordan, 71-70, and keep an unbeaten slate in Group B of the 2014 FIBA Asia Cup in Wuhan, China.
Point guard Paul Lee of Rain or Shine led Gilas with 16 points, 11 of which was posted in the second half; naturalized Filipino center Marcus Douthit contributed 13 points along with nine rebounds while Meralco’s Jared Dillinger finished with nine points.
Gilas Pilipinas swept all its three games in the elimination round in Group B to arrange a quarterfinals showdown against India on Thursday.
Ahmed Aldwairi led Jordan with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
