Ginebra battle Alaska today

BARANGAY Ginebra Kings and Alaska Aces will face each other while Globalport hopes for a big win today in the 39th Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner’s Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Aces are occupying solo fourth with a 4-3 card while the Kings are locked in a three-way logjam from sixth to 8th spot with 3-4 slate when they collide at 5:15 p.m. Winless Globalport (0-8) will try to surge into the win column when it face 9th front running Barako Bull (2-6) at 3 p.m.

Coach Luigi Trillo’s Aces, coming from a 10-day rest, are in a roll following a three-game winning streak that moved them just half a game behind solo third San Mig Coffee (4-2) and San Miguel Beer (5-2).

The Tropang Texters of coach Norman Black completed a sweep of the elimination round after escaping with a 92-91 win over Globalport on Friday. The last time Black ccomplished the same feat was in the 1989 Reinforced Conference prior to San Miguel Beer’s Grandslam.
