A new smartphone brand from China is starting to generate its own set of followers, particularly the entry level P2 and the flagship ELIFE E6.
In a statement, Katrin Salanga-Gregorio, head of Gionee Mobile Philippines said that, “We are delighted with the reception by Filipino consumers of Gionee mobile phone products.”
The smartphones are manufactured by Gionee Communication Equipment Co. Ltd. of China.
The entry level P2, the company claims, is packed with a number of features usually found in phones that are priced higher.
Gionee’s ELIFE E6, on the other hand, is fast catching up among Filipinos especially those who are hooked on social media sites and gaming. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, a high-definition display, 32-gigabyte ROM and a 13-megapixel camera.
Memo Express, one of the country’s leading cellphone dealers, carries Gionee mobile phones in all its outlets nationwide. Memo Express executives have found Gionee mobile phones to be of superior quality but priced affordably and competitively.
Gionee unveiled its flagship smart phone ELIFE E6 in the Philippines in October 10. It rolled out its other mobile phone products such as GN708 and P2 following the launch of ELIFE E6.
Gionee has invested billions of renminbi for its 500-acre industrial park which is capable of producing more than 40 million units of mobile phones a month. The company is considered as one of the largest mobile phone manufacturers in China.
“The company has done everything possible to ensure that every Gionee smartphone is user-friendly and unique,” Gregorio said.
