• ‘Glenda’ traps more than 6,000 seagoing passengers


    With a large part of the country now being buffeted by the strong winds brought about by typhoon “Glenda”, the Philippine Coast Guard on Wednesday announced that the adverse weather has now stranded 6,210 persons in various ports nationwide.

    This was revealed by the PCG in its 8 a.m. update.

    Aside from this, 601 rolling cargoes, 33 ships and 13 bancas were prevented from leaving ports.

    Majorities of the stranded passengers and ships are from ports in Southern Tagalog and the Visayas. PNA
