GLOBAL Business Power Corp. (GBP), the power generation arm of the Metrobank Group of Companies, is now ISO 9001:2008 certified.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), GBP said it achieved the certification after a rigorous examination of its business process by TUV Rheinland Philippines, an accredited third party auditing organization.
ISO 9001:2008 sets out the criteria for a quality management system that supports strong customer focus and continual process improvement.
The company said the ISO certification of its corporate office is an affirmation of its commitment toward service excellence as it conforms to the most stringent international standards.
“Guided by the company’s vision, GBP strives to be the leading and most efficient energy provider by continually improving its plant operations, business processes and systems to achieve ultimate customer satisfaction,” GBP said.
The corporate office of Global Business Power now joins the ranks of ISO-certified power plants that are operated by Toledo Power Company, Cebu Energy Development Corporation, Panay Power Corporation, Panay Energy Development Corporation and GBH Power Resources, Inc.
GBP Executive Vice President Jaime T. Azurin said that being committed to providing adequate, reliable and cost-efficient power supply, some of their power plant facilities have been ISO 9001 certified as early as the year 2000.
“With our corporate office achieving the same recognition, our customers can expect consistent quality service in every aspect of our operations,” he said.
He added that GBP’s ISO certification also “serves as our foundation in bringing our growth plans to fruition.”
“As we seek to enter new markets and pursue expansion projects, continual improvement in our processes will enable us to optimize operational efficiency and at the same time, allow flexibility to swiftly react to market demands and opportunities,” said Azurin.
