Global FC ends group stage campaign by beating Laos

Global FC concluded its United Football League (UFL) Cup 2015 campaign with an unblemished record after defeating Laos FC, 5-1, at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium on Saturday, May 23.

The first division powerhouse Global FC immediately took control of the match as Mark Hartmann charged deep into the Laos’ territory and scoring a goal uncontested in the 12th minute.

Laos FC’s flimsy defense was easily penetrated by the offense of Global as another goal by the younger Hartmann went through to extend the lead to 2-0.

Hartmann ended his duty for his club in the annual tilt with a hat-trick after converting a penalty conceded by the back-line of Laos in the 41st minute.

After the break, the blistering offense of the defending first division league champs notched another mark, this time by team captain Misagh Bahadoran.

Second division squad Laos FC did not go without a fight clinching a goal for their side as Global FC defender Marco Casambre was caught with a hand-ball infraction inside the box.

Shayan Jafary converted the shot to cut the lead of their foes to just 4-1 with less than 30 minutes left in regulation.

High scoring striker Izo Elhabib sealed the team’s win with a goal of his own in the 83rd minute.
