Leading team Global FC will start its campaign in the second round of the United Football League (UFL) when it faces Forza FC at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium at 1:30 p.m. today.
Global currently holds a record of 10 wins and a draw. The single draw, a 3-3 deadlock, in Global’s record came through Ceres La Salle FC.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Forza just came from a 1-5 loss to Loyola Meralco Sparks FC in the final stretch of the UFL games.
During their first round meeting, Global FC beat Forza 2-0 through a brace of Fil-Iranian midfielder Omid Nazari.
Head coach Leigh Manson is expected to rely on the prowess of Azkals standouts that include prolific scorer Misagh Bahadoran and tough defender Amani Aguinaldo.
Eight seed Forza will be banking on the services of Japanese forward Hayato Aoki and goalkeeper Abu Ibrahim as they face the formidable Global FC.
Meanwhile, Green Archer United FC and JP Voltes FC are also scheduled to clash in the 4 p.m. match of the double-header Wednesday.
The No.7 Green Archers currently hold a record of five wins, two draws and five defeats while JP Voltes has eight wins, a draw and three losses.
The Archers opened their second round campaign with a 2-1 win over defending champions Ceres La Salle while Voltes suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat to Kaya FC over the weekend.
