Local football powerhouse Global FC are all set to face Myanmar’s Yadanarbon FC in their home game at the new Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan for the AFC Cup on Wednesday, April 15.
Global FC, fresh off a commanding 10-1 win over Manila Jeepney FC in the UFL over the weekend, now has a renewed confidence going into the match, according to head coach Leigh Manson.
Manson, meanwhile, added that they will be fielding a full line-up on Wednesday with a total of 14 outfield players and 3 goalkeepers for the said game.
“For the first time we have an almost full squad. Its a small group but don’t have any injuries and that’s a real morale boost for everybody,” he said.
The coach of the defending UFL champs exhausted that he is optimistic about his club’s chances of finally sealing their first win in the continental football tilt.
“I think this is a team that we have a chance of taking the three points off.”
On the other hand, Global FC’s high scoring striker Mark Hartman stated that he and his teammates are excited to be the first team to play in the 25,000 seater stadium owned by the Iglesia Ni Cristo, adding that “the pitch is lovely.”
