Globalport faces San Mig Coffee while Ginebra takes on cellar dweller Air 21 Express in the Philippine Basketball Association Governor’s Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome today.

Globalport Batang Pier (2-2 win-loss slate) battles San Mig Coffee Mixers (1-3) at 5:15 p.m. In the second game, Ginebra (1-3) collides with Air 21 Express (1-4) at 7:30 p.m.

A win by Batang Pier over the Coffee Mixers would allow them to share the fourth spot with idle Rain or Shine, which is bearing a 3-2 card.

Coach Junel Baculi will lean on 6’5 import Markeith Cummings, Gary David, Jay Washington, Marvin Hayes and Solomon Mercado, who combined for 80 points in their 95-102 losing game to Talk ‘N Text on Sunday.

But the Coffee Mixers are keen to bounce back after losing to Petron Blaze, 83-89, on Saturday. Coach Tim Cone pins his hope on import Marqus Blakely, James Yap, Alein Maliksi, Alex Mallari and Peter June Simon, who combined for 67 points against the Blaze Boosters.
