GLOBE Telecom is introducing a new roster of broadband internet offerings that include a 1-gigabit per second (Gbps) plan.

Platinum Broadband plans range from 50 megabit per second (Mbps) up to the fastest internet plan of up to 1 Gbps.

Starting October 24 the new broadband plans will be available in 80 sites.

The telco said Globe Platinum Broadband is powered by fiber-to-the-home (FFTH) technology, a broadband architecture that uses optical fiber. FFTH is a standard in providing high speed internet.

“We are very excited to offer our new Platinum Broadband Plans as our way to provide Filipinos, one area at a time, with high-quality broadband services that need not be costly,” said Gilbert Simpao, Globe senior vice president for Consumer Broadband.

All plans are bundled with unlimited data with no data cap and free access to Spotify, NBA League Pass, and HOOQ.

Globe said the new internet scheme effectively puts the Philippines at par, if not better, against other countries such as USA, Thailand, and Indonesia in terms of affordability of broadband services. With its commitment to reach more customers, Globe is making its new Platinum Broadband Plans at less than half than its previous price offering.

The 50 Mbps and 100 Mbps plans will be initially available in over 80 Platinum-covered sites in select areas within Ortigas, Taguig City, Alabang, Makati, Eastwood, Rockwell, Mandaluyong, Pasay, Pasig, San Juan, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, Parañaque, Manila, Quezon City, and Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

On the other hand, the 200 Mbps plan is initially offered in Green Meadows, Acropolis,
White Plains, Forbes Par, Bel-Air Village, Urdaneta Village, Ayala Alabang, Alabang 400, Southbay Gardens, The Amaryllis, San Lorenzo Village, Serendra, Abrio Nuvali, and Ayala Greenfield Estates.

The 500 Mbps and 1 Gbps plans will be available in Acropolis, Bel-Air Village, Forbes Park, Greenmeadows, Urdaneta Village, and White Plains.

All plans will be available in more sites in the coming months as the telco’s fiber network expands to more areas nationwide.

  6. Good to know they’re making efforts to give customers what they’re asking for. Hindi na importante kung ano ang nag-motivate sa telcos to try and improve internet speed, what matters is that they’re actually doing something. Can’t wait to experience these speeds myself. Medyo perfect time ata to switch..

On the other hand, Globe provides 3 Mbps to the Provence that is really only 100 to 500 Kbps, except maybe at 3 am in the morning when no one is online. The “up to” is the trick. “Up to” if no one else is using the internet. How about a guaranteed minimum bandwidth.
