• Globe’s Bithos joins telecom alliance


    Globe Telecom Chief Operating Advisor Peter Bithos lined up with the esteemed roster of senior telecom leaders around the world as newly appointed member of the Products and Services Management Committee (PSMC), a highly influential unit of the GSMA.

    In a statement, Ernest Cu, Glove president and chief executive officer, said that, “Peter’s appointment to the GSMA as member of the Products and Services Management Committee testifies to our strong culture of excellence as we strive to delight our customers with our brand of service.”

    He added that, “In his new role in the GSMA, I am positive that Peter can lend and harness outstanding thought leadership and ideation as he steers the Philippine telco [Globe] to the global arena.”

    GSMA is an organization of over 800 mobile operators in over 220 countries.

    As member of the PSMC, Bithos will provide guidance to the GSMA Board and Executive Committee on its strategy and vision, as well as help drive GSMA’s operational activities in both technology and the area of products and services.

    Bithos’ nomination was approved by the GSMA Board Governance Committee, looking at his credentials that include leading Globe through three years of revenue market share gain.

    Globe’s chief operating advisor was instrumental in steering growth and profitability of the company’s mobile and broadband businesses with an innovative product portfolio and a sound strategy to drive superior customer experience.

    GSMA is slated to hold its annual Mobile World Congress starting February 24 in Barcelona, Spain.
