TORONTO, Canada: Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry rebounded from a poor shooting performance to combine for 47 points as the Golden State Warriors whipped the Toronto Raptors 113-89 on Friday (Saturday in Manila).
Thompson tallied 25 points with five assists and Curry finished with 22 points with five rebounds in front of a crowd of 19,800 at the Air Canada Center arena.
The pair combined for 31 points on just 10-of-30 shooting in Thursday’s loss to LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers.
Thompson and Curry carried the load Friday, joining forces to shoot 17-of-31 against the Swiss cheese Toronto defense.
Draymond Green added 17 points with nine rebounds for Golden State, which has split each of the four games on its current six-game road trip.
Terrence Ross led the Raptors with 18 points and DeMar DeRozan chipped in 14 on four-of-16 shooting. The Warriors bottled up Toronto point guard Kyle Lowry, who scored four points on one-of-seven shooting.
The Raptors have lost four consecutive games after a four-game winning streak.
Golden State started quickly Friday, jumping out to a 22-5 lead eight minutes into the NBA contest. Thompson and Green each hit two three-pointers during the surge for the Warriors, who held Toronto to one-of-19 shooting in the first quarter. The Warriors led 27-11 after a quarter of play.
Thompson netted the first 11 points for the Warriors to begin the third quarter. He hit three straight three pointers before Green converted a layup for a 67-33 lead and the Warriors led by as many as 41 over the final 21 minutes.
