Most parts of the country will experience generally good weather on Christmas Eve, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Thursday.

Dr. Vicente Manalo, Pagasa acting administrator, said that throughout the outlook period (December 24-25, 2015), the whole country will continue to have generally good weather aside from isolated thunderstorms over Mindanao.

Malano added that isolated light rains will be experienced over the eastern section of Luzon and Visayas because of amihan.

He noted no tropical cyclone is expected throughout the outlook period.

Meanwhile, northeast monsoon continues to affect Northern Luzon while easterlies prevail in Eastern Visayas.

“So far, the effect of northeast monsoon is concentrated in Northern Luzon but it will also bring cold mornings in some parts of Luzon including Metro Manila and the northeast monsoon usually peaks from early January to mid-February,” Pagasa weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio told the Philippines News Agency.

He said the agency has not seen any weather disturbance near the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) that may develop into tropical cyclone within the next three to five days or until weekend.

For the Thursday forecast, Pagasa said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Eastern Visayas and the province of Sorsogon while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains is expected over the province of Batanes and the islands of Calayan and Babuyan.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the east to northeast will prevail throughout the archipelago and coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The state-run weather bureau has not issued a gale warning and fisherfolk may venture into the sea.
