• Goodell, union discuss ways to address domestic violence

LOS ANGELES: NFL commissioner Roger Goodell met with NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith on Friday to discuss ways to address domestic violence, the league said in a memo to teams. The memo, posted online by NFL.com, said the discussions related to domestic violence and sexual assault covered “issues of personal conduct, including training, education, family services and the disciplinary process.” The league, and Goodell in particular, have been under fire over the handling of former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice after he knocked out his future wife in a casino elevator in February.
