• Gov Alvarado’s son survives car crash


    BULACAN: The son of Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino Sy Alvarado who is a Liberal Party candidate for congressman in the First District here cheated death during a head-on vehicular crash along Manila North Road in Barangay Longos in Malolos City on Sunday dawn. Jose Antonio “Jonathan” Alvarado, 33, married, sustained a head injury in his forehead and was bleeding from his nose when he was rushed to the Bulacan Medical Center by his security aides. His personal assistant, identified as Jericho Christian, 32, was with Alvarado on board a Toyota Fortuner driven by Bernadine Cantillan, 52, also his security aide when the mishap happened between 1 to 1:30 am.. Alvardo was seated at the back of the Fortuner. Malolos Police Station Chief Police Supt. Arwin Tadeo said the other car involved in the car clash was a Toyota Vios driven by PO3 Marlon Calderon, 34, assigned at the Operation Unit in Camp Alejo Santos in Malolos, who along with his female companion sustained minor injuries. Investigation showed the Vios counter-flowed to overtake another vehicle and collided with the Fortuner at a speed below 60 kilometers per hour. It was learned Calderon was under the influence of liquor and is now under the custody of the Malolos Police.
