Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto led the opening of Ala Eh! Festival on December 1 in Sto. Tomas, Batangas. Part of the province’s 434th Founding Anniversary, the week-long celebration is packed with exciting events like a fun run, trade and agri fairs, photo contest and exhibit, lantern parade, street party, and a music festival, among others.
This year’s Ala Eh! Festival is specially memorable in that it is Gov. Vilma’s last activity as the province’s head. Supporting her in the endeavor is Sto. Tomas Mayor Edna Sanchez.
“Today, Mayor Sanchez and I are one in marking the Foundation Day of Batangas to prove that there is no politics but only service in the province. I thank the mayor and her people of Santo Tomas for joining in the Foundation Day, my last as governor ng Batangas,” expressed Gov. Vilma.
Inviting everyone to catch the festivities, she added, “Mamiyesta na dine sa Batangas! All here, so near!”
Today, locals and tourists experiencing the festival will be delighted to witness the grand coronation night of the Mutya ng Batangas.
On Sunday, the adventure-filled downhill competition is slated.
The festival will also witness the grand finals of VSR (Voices, Songs & Rhythms) with contestants coming from all over Batangas. Guest singers and performers provide additional entertainment to the contest.
Capping the week-long festival on December 8 will be a Eucharistic Celebration, festival dance competition and awarding and closing ceremonies.
