A municipal employee was killed and his two companions were injured after they were attacked by men with guns and knives Friday night in a village in Bago City, Negros Occidental, police reports said on Saturday.
Killed was Arnel Rubaton, employee of the Bago City Hall. Wounded were Wilfredo Rubaton and Rommie Rubaton. All three are residents of Barangay Mailum, Bago City.
The suspects in the attack were identified by Regional police commander, Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr. as Vincent Bayog, Richard Bayog and Joseph Bayog.
Cruz said Rubaton and his companions were on their way home when they chanced upon the three suspects. The two groups had a heated argument.
The suspects then pulled out their weapons and began shooting and stabbing their victims, the reports said.
Police said the two groups have been at odds for a long time.
