Govt to tap radio groups in anti-crime drive


THE Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) is planning to tap amateur radio groups to help reduce the number of petty crimes in Metro Manila. Presiding over a meeting in Camp Crame on Wednesday, Interior Secretary Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas 2nd said members of the radio groups will be limited to monitoring ongoing crimes. Also present in the meeting were Philippine National Police deputy Director General Felipe Rojas, Metro Manila police chief Director Carmelo Valmoria and presidents of Philippine Amateur Radio Association, REACT Phils, Kabalikat Civic-Com and Voltra-Com.
