COTABATO CITY: Government forces repelled “simultaneous attacks” by the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) in two towns in Maguindanao on Wednesday evening, a spokesman for the military said Thursday.
Capt. Arvin Encinas of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division described the incidents at 9 p.m. as an “encoun-ter” because “the troops were able to fire first before the attackers”, contradicting a claim by the BIFF that the troops were ambushed.
