ATHENS: Greek authorities on Tuesday launched a search for a suspected member of a far-left militant group after he failed to check in with police as required under the terms of his pre-trial release. Costas Sakkas is awaiting trial on charges of belonging to extremist group Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei, whose members have been convicted of bombings. He was released from a nearly three-year pre-trial detention in July 2013 after going on hunger strike for over a month, on condition that he report to his local police station in Athens every week.
