• Grenade blast hurts 4 policemen, 3 civilians


    Four policemen and three civilians were injured in a grenade explosion near the Al Salaam Mosque Compound in Barangay Culiat, Quezon City (Metro Manila) on Monday morning. Senior Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, Quezon City police director, identified the injured officers as Police Officer 3 Jaalin Abdurajik, PO2 Abdulwarid Julaid, Senior Police Officer 1 Romeo Aming (all of the Police Security and Protection Group) in Camp Crame; and retired SPO4 Sala Uddin. The wounded civilians were Khadafi Udhan, Alex Taluyan of Cotabato City and Junrey Tioc of Iligan City, all residents of No. 4 Libyan Street, Salaam Mosque compound, Barangay Culiat. Eleazar said the victims were preparing to conduct Oplan Sita/Beat Patrol with the Police Community Precinct of Talipapa Police Station when two suspects on motorcycle stopped near the compound gate and hurled a grenade at them.
