But while she is a standard for luxurious taste in local show business, the celebrity asserts she can also be casual and fun, thanks to her newest endorsement with Karat World, a leading, homegrown jewelry brand in the Philippines.
The partnership between the brand and Barretto was launched on July 28 at Cav in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Proud of the company’s milestone, Felix Gorriceta, Karat World chief operating officer, enthused, “In this new campaign, you will see a different side of Gretchen: Someone who is more playful, someone who is down to earth, and someone who we can relate to.”
Nevertheless, the campaign title suits Barretto’s famous style, “Iconic.”
Gorriceta explained, “Our muse has been in the show business for 30 years while our brand has been in the jewelry business for 25 years. Others just come and go but we survived the ups and downs of the trade. She and Karat World earned respect in our fields, thus making us both ‘iconic’.”
With this, Gorriceta welcomed Barretto into the Karat World family. Making her entrance, the ever-beautiful actress wore a colorful Balenciaga top paired with basic black Topshop slacks. She completed her casual look with a pair of gold, hoop earrings from Karat World.
Her style that afternoon proved that Barretto is not just into expensive brands, and that Karat World’s more affordable blings can satisfy her different jewelry needs.
“I like the variety of the brand. They have formal jewelry I can wear with gowns. Then they have every day ones that I always wear and post on Instagram,” expressed the actress.
“[As a woman] you don’t always have to wear expensive jewelry so you can play with them. Minsan gusto mo ng hoop earrings, minsan gusto mo diamond [Sometimes you want hoop earrings, other times you want diamond].”
Zooming in on the brand’s affordability she added, “The quality, style and price points are perfect for times. Asked why they chose Barretto as their most high-profile face, Goricceta explained, “We chose her because she exemplifies the woman of today. A tough woman who stands by her man, a dutiful mom, a trustworthy friend, and a woman who works for a living and not simply rely on anyone.”
In response to Gorriceta’s praises, Barretto replied, “Yes, I work very hard and I love my family. I’m a strong woman who crumbles down but stands up again. I make mistakes [because]I’m not perfect. And still Karat World embraced me into their business and family. I can say that I’m overjoyed.”
