GSIS offers emergency loans to Mindanao residents

STATE-RUN Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is offering an emergency loan to its members in Mindanao living in areas under a state of calamity because of floods and an earthquake in September. GSIS President and General Manager Robert Vergara said active GSIS members who are working or residing in Maguindanao and four towns in Cotabato – the flood-affected Mlang, Pikit, and Tulunan, and the quake-hit Makilala – are qualified to apply. To avail of the loan, the GSIS said that borrowers should not be on leave of absence without pay, have no arrears in paying mandatory monthly contributions, and have no loans that are unpaid
