• Gun ban arrests breach 1,500 mark


    THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said the number of civilians arrested for violating the nationwide Election Gun Ban has breeched the 1,500 mark. Records from the PNP National Election Monitoring and Action Center (NEMAC) indicate that most of the total 1,623 arrested were civilians.The others arrested were 21 security guards; 15 government employees; 11 PNP personnel; six members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP); five members of other law enforcement agencies and two government militiamen.They will be charge with violation of the Omnibus Election Code.
