ILOILO CITY: Carrying of guns by bodyguards and security men of government officials will be strictly enforced at City Hall starting December 16, 2015. Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog instructed the city police chief, Senior Supt. Kashmir Disomangcop, to enforce his order on reports that some security personnel of city officials are seen carrying short firearms inside their offices at City Hall. “No one is above the law and firearms of bodyguards must be licensed by the Philippine National Police, including the mayor’s security detail,” Mabilog said. The City Hall police are authorized to frisk and inspect belongings, backpacks and bags of all employees and visitors as part of safety and security measures.
