Gunman kills policeman, wounds student inside Batangas school



A police officer was killed and a eight-year-old boy was hit by a stray bullet in a shooting incident early Monday in a village in Batangas.
Police reports identified the policeman as PO2 Dominic Bituin, assigned at the Batangas Provincial Police Office.
Hit by stray bullet was John Rio Catibog Bernadas, a pupil of the Padre Garcia Central School, reports said.
The reports said that at around 6:40 a.m., a man wearing a gray jacket entered the school’s campus in Poblacion, Padre Garcia town and shot Bituin with a 9mm pistol.
The policeman was hit in the head and Bernadas in his chest. The suspect fled on a  motorcycle towards Lipa City, the reports said.
The victims were taken to Rosales Hospital in Padre Garcia, where Bituin died while being treated.
