Gunmen shot dead a court sheriff in Sultan Kudarat – PNP


A court-sheriff was reportedly gunned down early Tuesday morning by still unidentified motorcycle riding gunmen at infront of his house in a remote village in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, initial police reports said.

Initial reports at the PNP national operations center in Camp Crame identified the victim as Edwin Cabug, of legal age and sheriff officer of the Regional Trial Court Branch 10 of Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.

The reports said that Cabug was reportedly sweeping the compound of his house at around 7am in Isulan town when the gunmen appeared from nowhere and repeatedly shot him hitting him in different parts of his body.

The victim died on the spot from gunshot wounds he sustained in the neck, nape and face while the gunmen quickly fled after the shooting incident, reports said.

The reports said that policemen from Isulan Municipal Police Station cordoned of the area nad investigating the incident to determine the motives and identities of the gunmen
