THE president of a media group party-list slapped Edward Hagedorn, former mayor of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan province, with perjury charges over 38 undisclosed vehicles in his asset declarations.
In a four-page supplemental complaint-affidavit before the Office of the Ombudsman, lawyer Berteni Causing, head of Alab ng Mamamahayag, alleged that Hagedorn did not name 38 vehicles in his 2004 to 2012 statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN).
The complaint is an addition to Causing’s initial complaints filed on October 23, which already alleged that Hagedorn did not name his 59 properties and a “hundred-million-pesos-yearly-selling” Jollibee franchise in the capital of Palawan.
In his latest charge filed on Monday, Causing said that Hagedorn failed to list his 38 vehicles “comprising of motorcycles, hauling vehicles and luxury cars.”
Among others were a 1997 Volvo (UTD-387); a 1994 Nissan Patrol Super Wagin (TNP-517); a 1997 Ford Expedition Wagon (WAP-293); a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser Wagon (ZAJ-898); and a BMW 750 IL Sedan (ZGE-801).
“In all nine SALNs of Hagedorn from 2004 up to 2012, he never declared any motor vehicle except for a couple of occasions,” the complainant alleged.
