• Hamid out for US friendlies with knee injury

LOS ANGELES: US coach Jurgen Klinsmann named Chicago Fire goalkeeper Sean Johnson to the Americans’ training camp roster on Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila) after an injury to D.C. United stopper Bill Hamid. The swap of Major League Soccer talent came as the retired German star’s side gathered in suburban Los Angeles for a training camp ahead of friendlies against Iceland on January 31 and Canada on February 5, both at the training camp site in Carson, California. Klinsmann selected a lineup mixed with senior players as well as some of the US under-23 squad aiming to compete at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in August.
