How cable brings Filipinos around the world closer to home
Fueled by the unending support of cable subscribers across the globe, GMA International is marking its 10th anniversary with a sense of fulfilment in serving Filipinos abroad and bringing them closer to home.
To celebrate the milestone, several subscribers generously shared their stories via the #Sampuso campaign, relating how living away from home becomes easier with GMA Pinoy TV.
Edith Andres, from Anaheim, California proudly posts she has been a GMA Pinoy TV subscriber since the service began in 2005. “I have three kids, they were born in the Philippines but raised here, and GMA particularly helped me connect them to our culture,” she shared. “When I’m at home, I’m in the Philippines, thanks to GMA.”
Meanwhile, the Vallesteroses from Vancouver, Canada, relays their love for GMA and its programs, and admits that even though they have watched an episode of their favorite program, they patiently wait for the replay to be able to watch it again. Lola Ester and Lolo Simeon particularly love watching GMA News TV International. “Nagpapasalamat ako sa GMA dahil updated kami sa mga balita, alam namin kung anu-ano ang nangyayari sa ating bayan,” shared Lolo Simeon.
The Abello, Gorospe and Lontoc families from other parts of the globe also joined the #Sampuso campaign, touchingly relating they “feel the heart in every show.”
“Nakakatanggal ng pagod paguwi galing ng trabaho; nakakamiss ang Pilipinas,” said the message from the Gorospes.
In response to the outpour of congratulations, GMA First Vice President and Head of International Operations Joseph Francia enthused, “It’s been a great 10 years of providing quality news and entertainment to our Kapuso subscribers abroad and we are grateful for their never ending sup-port for GMA. They can rest assured that GMA International will remain committed as we continue to nurture our relationship with Kapuso supporters abroad.”
