COTABATO CITY: Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Governor Mujiv Hataman appointed a new Department of Education (DepEd) regional director several days before the start of classes.
Dr. John Magno formally assumed as the new DepEd-ARMM regional secretary following his appointment on Monday.
Magno, who previously served as assistant secretary for operations, vowed to continue the reforms that have been introduced by the present ARMM administration.
Magno replaced lawyer Jamar Kulayan, who resigned from his post on Friday, May 22, after three years in service marked by administrative and financial reforms in the agency.
Magno said DepEd-ARMM is now ready for the opening of classes on June 1.
He said “Brigada Eskwela” has been going on smoothly in the provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.
Governor Hataman also appointed Sittie Mariam Ibrahim Balahim as the new assistant secretary for operations and Marjuni Maddi as assistant secretary for academics.
