Heart Evangelista must be on a roller coaster ride of emotions following her much-talked about engagement to Sen. Chiz Escudero.
Just like any girl who has found her groom, she is clearly happy and excited, but as the dizzying preparations for her dream wedding begin, much stress and anxiety are now probably in her mix of feelings as well. Add to these, the Balesin Island controversy that rocked Twitter and Instagram this week (where a TV personality and her fiancé claimed their booking was bumped off in favor of the high profile couple’s February weekend wedding), there is no doubt that the bride to be will have so much to deal with from now until the big day.
But in the midst of such early wedding planning hullabaloos, there is one thing the actress is sure of—that beyond the highly anticipated wedding next year, she truly, madly, deeply wants her marriage to the senator to be her first and last.
“I am focusing on happy thoughts because you only get married once. Well, Chiz [will]get married a second time, but for me, this is it. The last one,” Heart declared.
The 29-year-old actress opened up to select members of the press this week at an intimate event at Neo Day Spa in Bonifacio Global City. Hosted by Pond’s, it also launched a new partnership between the beauty and the brand.
“To be honest, I’m very conscious about this whole thing. I feel like everyone’s looking at my ring. I’ve never been engaged before and everything is super new to me,” she confessed.
And while she is still very much on a high, Heart has begun to feel the pressure of planning the big day.
“There’s just so much to do,” she exclaimed. “Kasi it’s not a long engagement where I’d have all the time to sit around and [just]look at my ring.”
While Sen. Escudero already confirmed their wedding on February 15 at Balesin, Heart, on the other hand, addressed the controversy, which began with a Facebook post from the TV personality’s friend, spilling the beans on the alleged bump off.
For the record, Heart said, “We’re not like that. This is the best day of our lives. I’m a bride-to-be, she’s a bride-to-be. Who would do that to any bride-to-be? There’s no truth to it. I hope ma-iron out nila.”
Beautiful and blooming
With all the stress and the bashing that Heart has to contend with these days, she is still beautiful as ever and in fact blooming all the more as most engaged women do.
Grateful for the compliments, she also thanked Pond’s Flawless White Dewy Rose Gel, her latest endorsement for helping her out.
The beauty brand’s first whitening solution formulated as a gel, Heart said she fell in love with the product because it leaves a light and satiny texture on her skin, which is ideal for the hot and humid weather.
But more importantly, the actress shared that she believes looking good on the outside also has a lot to do with feeling good on the inside.
“It really starts from within because no matter how beautiful you are, no matter how famous you are, or how much jewelry you put on you, if you’re not feeling good inside, you’ll look like a kontrabida!” she laughed.
On her wedding day, Heart revealed she just wants to keep her look simple. Choosing light pink or salmon as her motif, she also wants her makeup to exude a rosy glow, beginning with a tinted moisturizer like Pond’s BB Cream.
“You don’t want to look so made up on your wedding day,” she added.
As for her dream wedding gown, Heart revealed, “I just want it to be very simple too; not too many diamonds or beads. Yung malinis tingnan. But I have no idea on the designer yet.”
What she has decided on—and admittedly willing to splurge on—are her wedding shoes. A pair of studded Christian Louboutin heels, whose search had her in contact with stores from Dubai to the United States.
“That’s it so far,” she said of her wedding plans. “We’ll see what happens in the days and weeks to come, but at the end of the day as long as the groom doesn’t change, OK na ako,” Heart ended with the sweetest smile.
