Defending NBA champion Miami crushed Indiana, 99-76, in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference finals to arrange a title showdown with San Antonio.
Tightening up on their defense, which was porous in Game 6, the Heat dominated the Pacers the entire game, with LeBron James leading the charge with 32 points.
Paul George, the Pacers’ go-to man in Game 6, was limited to just 7 points and fouled out in the middle of the fourth quarter. Picking up the slack were Roy Hibbert, David West, George Hill and Lance Stephenson, but it was not enough to stem the Miami onslaught.
Dwayne Wade, who was struggling throughout the series, finally got his game going and backed up James with 21 points. Ray Allen also found the range, hitting 3 out of 5 three pointers to finish with 10 points.
The Heat outrebounded the much bigger Pacers, 43 to 36.
It was the third straight Eastern Conference title for Miami.
San Antonio earned a ticket to the finals by sweeping the Memphis Grizzlies.
