MOTORISTS should once again brace for a heavy traffic this weekend as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) resumes its road repairs and re- blocking along EDSA and other major roads in Metro Manila, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said on Friday.
In a bulletin, the MMDA said the re-blocking will start at 10 p.m. until 4 a.m on July 16.
The MMDA said that the areas to undergo repairs include the following:
In EDSA Pasay City, from General Santos to Wood Street (southbound, 3rd lane).
While in EDSA Quezon City, from Home Depot to Oliveros Footbridge (northbound, 3rd lane); from Kaingin Road to Dario Bridge (southbound, 4th lane); along Elliptical Road, going Commonwealth Avenue (3rd lane); from center island between Kalayaan Avenue and Maharlikha Avenue going East Avenue (6th lane); from sidewalk between Visayas Avenue and Quezon Avenue.
In EDSA Mandaluyong City, those that will be repaired are from Reliance Street to Libertad Street (northbound); and Boni Avenue to Mayon Street (southbound).
In EDSA Makati City, from Buendia to Guadalupe Bridge (northbound, outer lane); and from Guadalupe to Bernardino Street (southbound, outer lane).
While in EDSA Caloocan City, in Monumento Circle (southbound, 3rd lane) and from MCU Hospital to General Simon Street (northbound).
The MMDA advised motorists to take alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion in the said thoroughfares.
