Traffic will be heavy in some areas in Metro Manila this weekend because of the removal of the huge boundary marker between the cities of Manila and Makati City and road reblocking in Quezon City.
In an advisory, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said Osmeña Highway (northbound) from Magallanes Interchange will be closed starting Friday night to give way to the removal of the boundary marker.
Traffic enforcers and flagmen from MMDA, Manila Parking and Traffic Bureau, Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit, Makati Public Safety Authority and Skyway Stage 3 will be deployed to manage vehicular flow in the area.
Construction of Skyway Stage 3 started in February. The P26.5-billion project aims to decongest Metro Manila’s major thoroughfares including EDSA and C5 Road.
The Department of Public Works and Highways will continue the road reblocking and repairs starting 10 p.m. Friday until October 27.
All affected roads will be fully passable by 5 a.m. on Monday.
