UNITED NATIONS: The United Nations General Assembly approved the appointment of Heidi Mendoza, top auditor of the Philippines, as the new head of its internal oversight body, the Office of the Internal Oversight Services (IOS) said.
Mendoza, who succeeds Carman Lapointe of Canada, will serve as undersecretary-general for IOS for a five-year non-renewable term.
