Higher jeepney fare sought during rush hours

A TRANSPORT group wants P1 added to the minimum jeepney fare during the rush hours, an arrangement they likened to the “surge pricing” scheme granted to transport network companies Grab and Uber.

In a petition before the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, the Kilusan sa Pagbabago ng Industriya ng Transportasyon (KAPIT) said the provisional fare hike is necessary to offset higher fuel consumption during peak hours.
