• HK ends morning down but Shanghai rises

HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks fell in the morning session in line with losses across Asia, as investors adjusted to the increased odds of a US interest rate hike in June.

The Hang Seng Index slid 0.5 percent, or 99.77 points to 19,726.64.

But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.42 percent, or 11.91 points, to 2,819.42 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, gained 1.35 percent, or 23.88 points, to 1,789.96. AFP
