HK, Shanghai stocks retreat in morning session


HONG KONG: Hong Kong and Shanghai stocks eased in the morning session following losses on Wall Street and as oil fell back below the $50 mark.

The Hang Seng Index lost 0.13 percent, or 25.75 points, at 20,371.36.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.30 percent, or 8.41 points, to 2,814.03, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, slid 0.26 percent, or 4.64 points, to 1,804.29. AFP
