Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) launched on Tuesday the Mobilio, its all-new and affordable 7-seater Multi-purpose Utility Vehicle (MUV).
HCPI President and General Manager Toshio Kuwahara said the Mobilio was the first 7-seater that fits the Philippine market and the needs of the Filipino families.
“We actually have the Odyssey that we launched last March. Mobilio is a 7-seater and we have the Pilot, an 8-seater. In terms of affordable 7-seater, this is the first one. We are always thinking of a model that fits best the Philippines,” Kuwahara said at the launch in Pasig City.
Honda global strategy is to capture the higher and lower segment of the market. The Mobilio is the first MUV developed for the Asian market.
“Filipinos love their families. Wherever they go—to the mall, out of town—they always travel as a family. There is a demand for 7-seater vehicles. Actually if you look at the market, half of the market is six, seven-seaters,” Kuwahara said.
He said Honda models like Civic, Jazz and CRV were sold all over the world but Brio Amaze and Mobilio were developed for the Asian market “to fit local needs.”
“We believe that the All New Mobilio fits the needs and expectations of the Filipino family in a vehicle and we are thrilled to be able to finally introduce it locally and see more smiles on the road in an All New Mobilio,” Kuwahara said.
“We have 33 dealerships nationwide. We have 12 in Metro
Manila area and we have other dealers in North Luzon, Central Luzon, South Luzon, and Visayas, and Mindanao,” Kuwahara said.
The All-New Mobilio is available in three variants with the following suggested retail prices: 1.5 E MT, P807,000; 1.5 V CVT, P877,000; 1.5 RS Navi CVT, P967,000; and 1.5 RS Navi CVT (White Orchid Pearl), P987,000.
