• Honda sustains strong 2015 performance with 48% sales increase


    Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) sees a strong second half of 2015 after posting a significant increase in vehicle sales for the first seven months of the year, the company said in a statement Wednesday.

    HCPI reported a total of 10,467 vehicle sales from January 2015, 48 percent more than its retail sales for the same period in 2014. During the month of July, Honda recorded 1,732 vehicle sales, a 28 percent increase compared to the same month last year.

    Among the vehicles in HCPI’s lineup, the new City remains to the company’s bestseller, contributing half of Honda’s average monthly sales. The 4th-generation City, which debuted last year, has been updated with a built-in navigation system that addresses customers’ need for a more convenient drive, the company said.

    Also contributing to the significant increase in vehicle sales are Honda’s recently launched models, the all-new Mobilio and the all-new HR-V.

    The Mobilio is Honda’s first seven-seater Multi-purpose Utility Vehicle (MUV). Since its launch in April, the Mobilio has been well-received by Filipinos with more than 3,000 reservations in just three months.

    The HR-V was launched together with the new City last June. The letters HR-V stand for “Hip and Smart Runabout Vehicle,” in an effort to appeal to customers with active lifestyles. To date, more than 700 sales reservations have been gathered, the company said.

    “HCPI’s aggressive line-up expansion has enabled the company to cater to the needs and desires of the Filipino customers apart from increasing its market presence,” HCPI President and General ManagerToshio Kuwahara said in a statement.
