Welcoming the iPhone 7
It’s that time of the year again for all iPhone fanboys and fangirls to rejoice. Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are now officially in the Philippines as Globe telecom joined the simultaneous unboxing of the world-famous smartphone at the Hungry Hound restaurant at The Globe Tower on November 10.
Almost every two years, Apple releases a new iPhone but for this issue, the most striking change would probably be the unit’s stunning new design. It now comes with a seamless surface from the glass all the way to the aluminium back that sports a stainless steel Apple logo. The new iPhones will also be available in another color simply called Black, which comes with a material that diffuses light. Of course, the Silver, Gold, and Rose Gold colors are still be available for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models.
Another major feature includes a redesigned home button which is said to be “more responsive, more reliable and even customizable.” It’s been reengineered to be force sensitive with the help of a taptic engine that is great for Quick Actions, Messages, Notifications, and Ringtones.
The new iPhone is also water and dust resistant, and has cameras with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) up to 3x longer exposure, wider f/1.8 aperture (up to 50 percent more light on to the sensor), six element lens for sharper images, and an improved 12-megapixel camera, which is 60 percent faster and 30 percent more energy efficient.
More than just for calls and listening to music, the iPhone 7/7 Plus now comes with stereo speakers, and airpods that are affixed with a wireless chip, which detects each earpod when it’s in the ear. All that means that sound only plays when one is ready to listen.
Finally, the new iPhone 7/7 Plus promises to have the longest battery life ever in the iPhone line. Apple says it lasts two hours more than the iPhone 6.
