House leader urges DPWH and MMDA to hasten repairs of major thoroughfares

Quezon City Rep. Winston “Winnie” Castelo on Monday urged the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and its private contractors and the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to work closely in order to hasten the re-blockings and repairs of major thoroughfares, particularly EDSA, during the Holy Week lull.

In a statement, Castelo said that, since a number of Metro Manila residents have been rushing to the provinces for the Holy Week break, the DPWH and its private contractors and the MMDA should take advantage of the situation, adding that the Holy Week lull is the “opportune time” for all the road inspections and repair activity.
