Longtime partners Treat Huey of the Philippines and Dominic Inglot of England will be facing familiar foes in the opening round of the prestigious Wimbledon Championships being held in England.
Huey and Inglot battle Croatian Mate Pavic and Brazilian Andre Sa —the same pair that beat them in the second round of the French Open. The score was 6-7 (5), 6-7 (6).
But Huey and Inglot are pumped up as the Filipino-British pair won the 2014 Aegon International last week.
“It’s great. Going into the Wimbledon, it gives us a lot of confidence and we’re ready to play. Getting a title [in the Aegon International]is something that we always wanna do and it’s great to do that and have momentum going to the Wimbledon,” said the 5-foot-10 Huey in an interview posted by the British Tennis.
“We like some pretty big tournaments but this [Aegon title] means the most to me, honestly, because it’s in front of the home crowd and it’s really good to have a good support and I’m loving it, and on grass as well,” added Inglot.
They are also looking to improve their third-round finish in the 2013 edition where they lost to the Bryan brothers Bob and Mike, 5-7, 3-6, 6-7 (3).
