Huey, partner post wins in Switzerland


Filipino-American Treat Conrad Huey and American Scott Lipsky scored two-straight victories to barge into the semifinals of the 2015 Geneva Open doubles being held in Switzerland.

The fourth-seeded Huey and Lipsky overpowered Austrians Oliver Marach and Philipp Oswald in the first round, 6-2, 6-3, and Australian Rameez Junaid and Canadian Adil Shamasdin in the quarterfinals, 6-2, 6-1.

Huey and Lipsky are just awaiting the winners in the other quarterfinal match between Czech Republic’s Frantisek and Israel’s Jonathan Erlich, and South Africa’s Raven Klaasen and Taiwan’s Lu Yen-Hsun.

Meanwhile, junior netter Alberto Lim Jr. and Vietnamese partner Ly Nam Hoang bowed to Italians Giovanni Orandini and Corrado Summaria, 4-6, 1-6, in the first round of the 56th Trofeo Bonfiglio doubles event in Milan, Italy.
