Filipino Treat Conrad Huey and British Dominic Inglot will be gunning for a spot in the third round of the prestigious 2014 Australian Open in Melbourne.
The 12th-seeded tandem of Huey and Inglot will face the winner between Germans Robian Kamke and Florian Mayer, and Italians Andreas Seppi and Potito Starace.
Huey and Inglot posted a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 come-from-behind win against Colombia’s Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah in the opening round.
In that game, Huey and Inglot posted a total of 83 points including nine aces. They committed five unforced errors in their one-hour, 37-minute game.
The Filipino-British tandem has already surpassed its first-round exit in the 2013 edition. Their best finish in the Australian Open was in 2012 when they also reached the second round.
Huey is currently ranked 22nd in doubles while Inglot is at No. 28.
After the Australian Open, Huey is scheduled to compete in the Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Group II tie in Colombo, Sri Lanka together with Johnny Arcilla and Ruben Gonzales.
